2026 Backpack Program

Here are the details for Maple Valley Food Bank’s Backpack Program:

  • Registration opens: Tuesday, 7/7
  • Registration closes: Wednesday, 7/29
  • Registration hours: during our Market hours: Tuesdays 10:30 AM to 6 PM & Wednesdays 10:30 AM to 1 PM.
  • Eligibility:
    • Must be an active Maple Valley Food Bank customer (having shopped twice within the past 6 months).
    • Must reside within our service area of Maple Valley, Tahoma School District boundaries, or Selleck.
      • If you do not have a permanent address, you must provide documentation that your children are enrolled in the Tahoma School District.
    • Must provide proof of address.
      • Examples: utility (PSE/water) bill, phone bill, mortgage statement, lease agreement, ledger, internet bill, etc.
    • Must provide ID for all school-aged children (K-12) living in your household.
      • Examples: student ID card, license, medical card, birth certificate, SSN card, Skyward account, DSHS benefit letter, etc.
  • Additional Notes:
    • We cannot register your children for the Backpack Program until we’ve received proof of address AND ID for all school-aged children.
    • We do not provide school supplies for preschoolers or college students.
    • Children must be living in your household to be eligible for the Backpack Program.
    • Those without a permanent address must provide documentation that their children are enrolled in the Tahoma School District and email the documentation to Allie, allie@maplevalleyfoodbankorg.
    • The school supplies we offer are based on the lists provided by the Tahoma School District. We cannot fulfill every need. However, we’ll do our best to ensure students have the basics as they head into the school year!

Backpack Program Maple Valley Food Bank

It’s that time already! We know for a lot of families that the school supply list just seems to get longer and longer.

Maple Valley Food Bank Backpack Program is designed to help our existing clients get to that first day back to school with one less thing to worry about.

Here’s the details!

Registration Dates: July 8th to July 30th, 2025. During Market Hours

Market Hours: Tuesdays, 10:30am to 6pm and Wednesdays, 10:30am to 1pm.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be an active MVFB customer (in our database and visited twice in the last 6 months).
  • Live in Maple Valley, 98038, Selleck, or within the Tahoma School District.
    • If you do not have a permanent residence, you must provide documentation that your children are enrolled in the Tahoma School District.
    • If your children are not enrolled in the Tahoma School District, you can call the food bank in your child’s school district to request backpacks and school supplies (see list below).
  • Have school-aged children (K-12) living in your household.
  • Provided proof of address and ID for all children on file.
